Blog #2 Black Man and Public Space

I personally think the author is giving off in the story is that he was trying to be at first was acting like he was a criminal when he says "My first victim was a woman--white, well-dressed, probably in her late twenties." Then again i think he was being rational because most people feel threatened when they are the only person on the street seeing there is a person that looks scary to you. Everybody has that feeling once in a while to make then feel insecure.I also think the authors purpose of the story is to inform his readers about how he never felt that feeling of not being satisfactory in the eyes of the public.I think his audience was for both for blacks and whites. He wants both races to know his feelings on the situation. He wants his point of view to be seen in order for the reader's to fully understand the feelings he felt. In some cases it is not as easy to say the words than it is to read the words. He wants the reader to understand the dangers that he faced in life only because of the color of his skin and not by his deliberate actions.
